Disconnect from modern life and reconnect with nature and yourself.

Explore Maine’s wild islands by row boat with an experienced guide.

In the summer of 2025, we will offer three wilderness adventure trips along the Maine coast in our custom expedition quad. Each trip has room for four rowers:

July 18-20

August 22-24

September 26-28

See our Adventure Row FAQ to learn more about these intimate coastal adventures.

If none of these trip dates suit your schedule, you might consider our custom adventure options.

To ensure the best possible experience, all interested adventurers must submit an application form. Upon approval of your application form, you’ll be sent the registration package and check-out details for paying the deposit to secure your spot.

Our overnight adventure rows are offered to rowers with at least 6 months of sliding-seat rowing experience. See our Rowing Lessons page if you are interested in learning to row!

Trips only go out if fully booked with four rowers 30 days prior to the trip dates. Rowers may sign up individually, in partial groups, or as a full group of four. A discounted rate applies to groups who sign up with a full four rowers.

Each trip’s specific route will be customized to the group’s interests and skills, making each journey truly unique. We work hard to ensure that each trip is carefully crafted to provide two things:

1 - a bit of a challenge (so you can feel proud!)

2 - a whole lot of beauty and fun (to make it all worth it)

These are not simple sightseeing trips. You will most likely test your limits, learn new skills, and change your concept of what you’re capable of. You will intimately experience the forces of wind and waves, and develop an appreciation for the tides. You will have the chance to learn through doing in all aspects of expedition rowing: loading the boat for proper trim, navigating open water crossings, rowing through rough water, communicating to other vessels, anchoring the boat on a clothesline anchor system, and Leave No Trace back country camping. You might even experience that grounding and strangely comforting sensation of realizing you’re just one tiny piece of a vast richness of existence.
