Day 9 – Into Queen Charlotte Strait

Leigh and Dameon made about 42 miles as they left the Johnstone Strait into Queen Charlotte Strait. Leaving civilization behind they made camp on the British Columbia mainland as they prepare to approach the open waters of the Pacific.

An hour or so after the photos in the glassy calm, the wind had picked up and fog was creeping in on the horizon. Soon we would be engulfed in fog and end the day battling our way into a protected cove along the rocky, fog-enshrouded coast.
Bear scat on the beach 30′ from the only place we could pitch a tent.
